Maxus opens tech-based outpost in Scotland

unnamed-3WPP media agency Maxus is opening in Scotland. Maxus Scotland, based in Edinburgh will be headed by Andrew Dunn (left), former MD of MediaCom Dublin which he launched in 2008.

Maxus says the new agency will be focussed on technology and include Maxus Pie, its ‘plug and play’ service that gives smaller and mid-size brands the same digital analytics enjoyed by big advertisers.

Maxus says its new operation is the first network-owned media agency to open in Scotland for ten years: a reasonable enough move as Scotland may still become an independent country if the UK does, indeed, pull out of the European Union.

Maxus UK CEO Nick Baughan says: “Edinburgh is the ideal location for Maxus to expand into, it’s a vibrant city with a staunchly international outlook. Scotland has its own distinct consumer and separate media market, so having local specialists on the ground will allow us to not only support the current Maxus client base but also grow our client list here.”

MD Dunn says: “Maxus’ technology-based, straight-talking, data-centred approach will be a breath of fresh air for the Scottish marketing and communications industry.

“Our research shows that over 90 per cent of Scottish businesses are going through technology-based change but only a quarter feel able to cope. And with now a time of peak transformation, a degree of uncertainty and boundless opportunity, the timing is absolutely right for a new entrant to the market and one which understands not only the pace of change but also the direction of travel.

“Our offering is designed to use technology and data coupled with creative flair to ensure clients achieve the most effective use of their marketing budgets.”

  1. After Afghanistan and Zimbabwe, the “Poisoned Dwarf” is determined to leave no stone unturned in his desperate attempts to ever expand his evil empire. There is no truth to the rumors that he has asked Andy Murray to be CEO. England footballers need not apply for any position, and it has fuck all to do with nationality.
