Blu eCigs hires top new UK marketing duo

There must be money in e-cigarettes: American-owned blu eCigs, which styles itself the UK’s premium electronic cigarette brand, has hired two senior marketers to back up CEO Jacob Fuller.

unnamed-6James Dodkin (left) has joined from Fosters Wine Estates, where he was group innovation manager, as marketing director and Alistair Hall joins as commercial director. He has worked at Mars, Nestle and E&J Gallo.

Dodkin says: “The reasons for joining are clear – it’s a new, growing and exciting category. blu has, in my view, the highest quality product in the market. Furthermore blu has, and will continue to build, an exceptional team, which is 100% committed to making blu eCigs the leading e-cig brand in the UK.”

Blu has recently run a big campaign through ad agency Brothers and Sisters and also used Cake for an online promotion majoring on DJs. the appointment of new marketers always gives existing agencies something to think about but blu seems to hitting its ambitious targets in the UK.
