Leagas Delaney has produced a new online film as part of its global ‘Numbers can be extraordinary’ campaign for Penfolds wines, this time an online film to mark the release of the 2011 Penfolds Grange vintage.
It tells the story of the birth of the legendary Penfolds Grange Bin 95, crafted against the odds by long-time Penfolds chief winemaker Max Schubert. Max was apparently despatched from Oz to search out the mysteries of sherry but found himself in Bordeaux – fortunately.
Narrated by Russell Crowe (who doesn’t usually do these commercial things but I bet his cellar is currently well stuffed), directed by Nick Benns of Momoco with music by David Hirschfelder.
I’ve never actually sampled the ‘great Australian red.’ The late Auberon Waugh used to make an annual resolution to drink less but better wine. Maybe I should follow suit and save up.
If the definition of great online ‘content’ is something which engages you like entertainment while still whacking you over the head with a sales message then this riveting yarn fits the description.
