Burger King welcomes Boomers. After a fashion

News

Boomers are getting a rare moment in the spotlight in Buzzman Paris’ new campaign for Burger King. But it must surely have been Gen Z creatives who chose to dismiss the Boomer stage of life as bedevilled by aching backs, stiff knees, flying toupees and bald spots.

To add insult to injury, the new Boomer King menu comes with collectible gifts inspired by naff 80s or 90s TV shows. The choice is between Saved by the Bell socks, a Knight Rider T-shirt, a Charmed mug or a Beverly Hills, 90210-branded glass. The soundtrack is a grating, generic-sounding 90s style TV theme tune.

The ad is more a parody of the generation than a tribute to it, but at least it makes a change from the incessant targeting of Gen Z and Millennials.
