UK radio operator Global is now a big player in Out of Home too with its Exterion, Primesight and Outdoor Plus acquisitions and now it’s bought MMD Media, a Dutch petrol forecourt specialist with 1378 digital screens at 607 petrol stations.
Exterion, which operates advertising on the London Underground, already had a business in the Netherlands. Global says it’s now the country’s biggest digital Out of Home operator with more than 2600 screens reaching 40 per cent of the population.
Leon Taviansky, CEO of outdoor at Global, says: “We saw this investment as the perfect opportunity to grow our current DOOH portfolio in the Netherlands. The deal complements our current Dutch portfolio, adding 1378 digital screens in petrol stations to our assets on the National Railway and in shopping malls. MMD Media has built an impressive business which we’re excited to develop even further.”
Global’s radio brands include Capital, Heart, Classic FM, LBC, Global Newsroom, Smooth, Radio X and Capital XTRA.
