Sarah Baumann joins VaynerMedia as new MD

Gary Vaynerchuck’s VaynerMedia is one of the more interesting (relative) newbies on the ad scene and now the US-based agency has hired Leo Burnett’s former deputy CEO Sarah Baumann (below) as MD.

VaynerX chairman and VaynerMedia CEO Vaynerchuck says: “After opening three years ago, our London office has established itself in the UK marketplace as an agency that drives business results for our clients through attention, culture and empathy. We are now looking to expand that offering. With Sarah’s rich background in the advertising industry and her passion for developing talent, she is the right person to take the agency to the next level. I am thrilled she’s joining the VaynerMedia team.”

Baumann says: “VaynerMedia is an agency that truly understands where consumer attention is and how to leverage that to build clients’ businesses. That, plus the incredible belief in culture and talent, is what drew me to the agency. I cannot wait to work with the team and to continue growing the business.”

Baumann spent most of her career at Burnett in a number of roles including MD of luxury division Atelier, group talent strategy director and head of account management. Most recently, she was director of marketing at the People’s Vote Campaign, fighting for another Brexit referendum.

VaynerMedia London’s clients include Diageo, Unicef, Shell and Royal Bank of Scotland. It also plans to open an office in Singapore this summer.
