Mother from the UK won Ad Age’s International Agency of the Year gong, following on its recent success as Campaign’s UK nomination. Readers with long memories may recall that it won MAA’s Agency of the Year too, the only one of these awards to be made in the year in which they were actually assessed – 2018.
Belatedly perhaps (in some quarters anyway) Mother deserves its prizes with some great work (most notably KFC) and a string of new business wins. If it had won Barclays in a recent pitch against incumbent BBH it really would have been all-conquering.
Ad Age’s US number one was Wieden+Kennedy with Goodby Silverstein (our US Agency of the Year) runner-up., showing that independent-minded veterans still bring home the honours (Mother is now 21.)
