New-style M&C Saatchi has completed its management line-up with the appointment of Raquel Chicourel, head of planning at Saatchi & Saatchi London, as its new CSO. New CEO Giles Hedger, from Leo Burnett, has already appointed Kate Bosomworth as its CMO. Justin Tindall, also from Burnett, predated Hedger’s appointment as CEO.
Even though M&C (named after Maurice and Charles Saatchi) split from Saatchi & Saatchi more than 20 years ago there a fierce rivalry between the two agencies remains.
CEO Hedger says: “Raquel is a rare combination of reductive pedigree and expansive flair. She is the perfect embodiment of Brutal Simplicity of Thought (the age-old Saatchi mantra) as it enters its next chapter.”
Chicourel said: “For me personally this is one of those singular moments in life when a set of people with unassailable spirits invite you to push the reset button and shape the future of a well-known London agency.”
After a brief and disastrous union with digital agency Lean Mean Fighting Machine M&C seems to have gone back to basics with its new team although assembling it can’t have been cheap.
