Mother hires raft of creatives for New York and LA

Creatives seem to be joining agencies in swathes these days, recently we had an influx at Leo Burnett London and, before then, Y&R’s Jon Burley hired a football team’s worth.

Now independent agency Mother has hired 17 across its New York and LA offices, indicating its confidence in New York which has seen some departures recently and the relatively new territory of LA which is proving an interesting hunting ground for independent agencies. West Coast clients seem to be less impressed by big networks, as some of them are by anything not minted in the West.

Mother New York CCO and partner Corinna Falusi (left) says: “One new voice can completely shift the trajectory of an idea, or even an agency and Mother is fortunate to have 17 new creatives who each bring a fresh perspective to our creative team. Our independence and our no bullshit approach remains a critical part of our culture and we are thrilled to welcome these talented voices to the Mother family.”

17 is too many too name them all, alas, but among the newbies are two creative directors: Abe Baginsky from Ogilvy New York office where he worked on Coca-Cola, Amex and the United Nations and Erik Norin, a digitally-minded creative from Sweden who spent the last six years at R/GA, 72andSunny and Wieden+Kennedy.
