Burnett’s Sobhani reveals new creative influx

Leo Burnett London seems to sail on in its stately way – something of a miracle in today’s stormy seas – but all of a sudden there are lots of new faces including new CEO Gareth Collins from Fallon – plus Fallon, extracted from Saatchi in a Publicis Groupe reshuffle – and now creative director Chaka Sobhani (hired from Mother last year) has recruited a whole additional team of creatives. Burnett has won some big new assignments from McDonald’s this year.

It’s hired Dan Fryer and Gavin Lambert from Fold7, Charlotte Prince and Loriley Sessions who’ve worked at The Corner, Gareth Lathwell who’s had stints at AMV and WCRS and Gareth Butters who did likewise at Grey and VCCP. Daniel Evans joined as a creative director from We Are Social in April.

Sobhani (above, second right) says: “Talent is our life blood and we’re only as good as our people. Interesting and interested folks who will make us all better, agency and clients alike, and who will always put the audience first. Simply put, we’re always looking for people who get people, and who want to make stuff that’s going to make a real impact. Our newbies bring that in spades and we’re very chuffed that they’re joining us.”

Which is good to hear. Watch out though Chaka, Arthur Sadoun’s AI thingy Marcel is around the corner and who knows what that will bring.
