Shopper marketing seems to be a booming area, despite or maybe because of the problems facing ‘offline’ shops, and WPP’s Y&R is expanding its Labstore Europe shopper marketing business.
It has hired Daniel Pownall (left), founder of creative boutique Mr Nice, as its new ECD and promoted Martin Wolf, former strategy chief based in Vienna, to managing director. Pownall will be based in Madrid which will be one of the two main hubs of the network with Vienna.
Labstore, founded in 2008, has recently opened offices in Budapest, Lisbon, Moscow, Paris and Prague. Its clients include Movistar, Danone, GE Money Bank, Eroski, and BEL.
Y&R Europe president Andrew Dimitriou says: “The Labstore shopper and retail offering is seamlessly woven into our broader Y&R Europe network to deliver integrated solutions to meet our clients’ business needs. The new leadership will continue to drive brand experience management along the path to purchase for a perfect chemistry between brands, shoppers, consumers and retailers.”
