Brave wins Dunstone-backed HouseSimple

Online estate agency HouseSimple has appointed London creative agency Brave to develop TV, press, poster and digital advertising as it sets off in pursuit of UK market leader Purplebricks. The appointment follows an investment of £13m by Carphone Warehouse founder Sir Charles Dunstone and his business partner Roger Taylor.

HouseSimple was founded in 2007 by young entrepreneurs Alex Gosling and Sophie Cronin.

Gosling says: “From the first meeting it was clear Brave understood our brand and, equally importantly, our ambition for the next stage of HouseSimple’s growth. It is a pivotal time for the HouseSimple business and we’re excited to have an equally ambitious creative partner in Brave.”

Brave business director Peter Booker says: “It’s clear that Alex and Sophie have built a product and business that are set for exceptional growth. On meeting the team, it was equally evident that we share the desire to create a category-leading brand to help us to realise that potential.”

Dunstone has deployed advertising to some effect in his career, for Carphone and also TalkTalk. Both accounts are handled by CHI.
