RKCR/Y&R continues comeback with big Swiss bank win
RKCY?Y&R has won Lombard Odier, a Swiss wealth and asset manager determined to make a bigger impact on the world stage with a big new ad campaign. The account is believed to be worth about £15m.
As gnomes of Zurich go (as we used to call them) Lombard Odier has a considerable pedigree, founded in 1796. But it’s a different world now with all the big banks competing publicly for rich people’s business. Lombard Odier has 26 offices in 19 locations including London, Paris, Zurich, Moscow, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo.
RKCR competed with some of continental Europe’s finest, believed to include BETC Paris, Fred & Farid and Armanda Testa.
Lombard Odier Group chief branding officer Fabio Mancone says: “This creative development has been a fantastic journey, from the Brand’s DNA, deeply rooted in 220 years of history and heritage, to a clear purpose, relevant to today’s world and in tune with our old and new clients’ needs and expectations. RKCR/Y&R have been great strategic partners and the resulting creative idea is incredibly strong in positioning and impact.”
RKCR/Y&R CEO Jon Sharpe says: “We are delighted to have been appointed by Lombard Odier at this exciting time for the brand. In a turbulent and competitive market there is a opportunity for us to make some ground-breaking work together with a client who truly believes in innovation and pushing boundaries.”
RKCR lost its biggest account, Lloyds Bank, last year and also decided not to repitch for Premier Inns, which has since appointed Lucky Generals. It also replaced CEO Ben Kay with Sharpe.
But it has recently won Chanel in the UK and other markets and been appointed as richest-of-the-rich UK Premier League football body’s first agency.
