Tony Kaye’s Black Farmer dances to a different beat

Here’s Tony Kaye’s ad for Black Farmer bangers, featuring the black farmer himself. You never get fired for featuring the client – well sometimes you do.

Kaye is the most awarded director in D&AD records it seems. It’s fair to say his oeuvre hasn’t always given up its meaning on first viewing, which is a bit of a drawback with ads unless you have an unlimited budget.

What to make of this?

Complete rubbish.

  1. Looks strangely old-fashioned. Like someone doing a Tony Kaye pastiche.
