Leo Burnett offers its Top Tips for Cannes

Leo Burnett has produced its latest Cannes winners predictions – its 28th – which, on past performance, is like an election exit poll in its accuracy.

And there’s hardly an ad – or what we used to call an ad – among them. This year, probably rightly, it concentrates on ‘creativity for good’ in its list of likely award winners, including its own #LikeAGirl for Procter & Gamble’s Always, already a big winner at the UK’s D&AD.

The UK does have a couple of ‘ads’ among Leo’s contenders, Wieden+Kennedy’s Type R for Honda and adam&eveDDB’s ‘Monty the Penguin’ Christmas epic for John Lewis.

Adland’s certainly a broad church these days but maybe we should stop calling it that anyway. Adland seems to occupy as much of a time warp as Don Draper.
