Havas boost mobile offer with Plastic Mobile buy
Here’s a new name to conjure with in this confusing (new) world: m-commerce.
Mobile, as we know, is growing like topsy although people still struggle to make as much money out of it as its reach indicates they should. But go-go French marcoms company Havas thinks it’s found one of the keys by buying Toronto-based specialist Plastic Mobile which builds apps for mobile retail, loyalty, payments, coupons and in-store promotions. Terms were not disclosed.
Havas Group CEO Yannick Bollore (left) says: “I’m thrilled to welcome Plastic Mobile to the Havas Group. Plastic Mobile is the premier agency for mobile and digital needs in the Canadian market. With proven results and savvy business strategies that propel top-tier brands into the fast-paced mobile revolution, this acquisition will strengthen our digital potency and capabilities.”
Havas clients in Canada include Hershey Canada, New Balance, Couch-Tard and Michelob Ultra. Plastic Mobile works for Rogers Communications, Bank of Nova Scotia and online retailer Beyond the Rack. Havas plans to offer Plastic Mobile’s services in the US too.
