Dentsu Aegis has bought international mobile agency Fetch Media for an undisclosed sum.
Fetch was founded by James Connelly and Declan Reddington in 2009 and currently employs 96 people in the UK, US, Germany and Hong Kong.
Dentsu Aegis Northern Europe CEO Robert Horler (pictured with Fetch COO Greg Grimmer and Connelly) says: “With consumers increasingly engaging with brands through mobile devices, mobile media has become a critical part of the communication ecosystem and a key driver for business outcomes.
“Growing our digital profile across all capabilities is one of our five strategic priorities and this deal clearly recognises the potential we see in both Fetch and the wider mobile market.”
Connelly will stay on as CEO of Fetch, with recently-appointed COO Grimmer.
Grimmer is an old London media hand, with stints at MEC precursor CIA and ZenithOptimedia on his CV. So he’ll know the Carat boys, who now seem to be running Dentsu Aegis, well.
If part of his brief was to sell the agency he’s succeeded remarkably quickly.
