Saatchi Tokyo signs Luca Grelli as new creative boss

Saatchi & Saatchi Fallon Tokyo has hired industry veteran Luca Grelli as executive creative director.

unnamed-6Grelli (left) has been freelancing for the last couple of years in New York following a stint as creative driector of WPP-owned Johannes Leonardo. He has also worked at JWT, Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam and Razorfish. He devised the Mercedes-Benz Tweet Race, where four driving teams had to rely on supporters’ tweets to move their car every single mile. He has won awards at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, The One Show, Epica, CLio, Eurobest and D&AD.

Saatchi & Saatchi Fallon Tokyo CEO Philip Rubel says: “Luca’s desire to help brands become more relevant to their audience has led him to use unconventional methods to engage consumers. He’s used sticker albums, video games, graphic novels and even music videos to create unique consumer experiences that resonate strongly with audiences. That desire was something we wanted to bring to our agency.”
