Argentina’s Pablo Del Campo wins top global creative role at Saatchi & Saatchi

unnamed-4Pablo Del Campo (left), the founder of Del Campo Saatchi & Saatchi in Buenos Aires and regional creative director of Saatchi in Latin America for the past seven years, has been appointed worldwide creative director of the network.

The post has been vacant for five years since long-serving incumbent Bob Isherwood, who oversaw Saatchi’s famous New Directors’ Showcase at Cannes, stepped down.

Under Del Campo Saatchi’s agencies in Argentina and Brazil have won a number of big clients including Coca-Cola, InBev, Procter & Gamble and Sony. The agencies have won 52 Cannes Lions and hundreds of major awards. Del Campo Saatch & Saatchi opened a new European network, based in Madrid, in 2012.

Del Campo says: “Ideas about communicating are the center of my universe. My new role is to accelerate the flow and adoption of ideas from our strategists and creatives to customers wherever they are, on whatever device, in every time zone. My  priorities are to set new goals for our creative community, to mentor world-changing  ideas, and to foster culture.”

Which is pretty fancy but, if anyone can pull it off, it’s probably Pablo who seems to be able to combine creativity, entrepreneurship and the ability to get on with big companies in one package.

And Del Campo Saatchi has produced some brilliant and quite edgy ads:

Can Del Campo work his magic on a bigger stage? We’ll see – at least he knows what his job’s going to be in the wake of the Omnicom/Publicis (Publicis Groupe owns Saatchi) merger.
