Jaguar buys A-list talent to give F-Type Super Bowl lift-off
The 2014 NFL Super Bowl, the world’s biggest adfest as spots go for $3m or so (probably more this year), is looming and Jaguar is pulling out all the cinematic stops for its debut.
The car marque (part of Jaguar Land Rover) and in-house agency Spark44 have signed up vintage British film baddies (Sir) Ben Kingsley and Mark Strong as well as the rather more sympathetique Tom Hiddleston to star in a film for its new F-Type coupe, directed by The King’s Speech helmsman Tom Hooper. Here’s a taster:
It all looks a bit sub-James Bond but no doubt Hooper and crew will produce something to amaze us. With about $10m on actors before you even get to the production and airtime, they’d better.
Jaguar’s F-Type has had loads of publicity without, so far, setting the pulses racing.
