Doner produces fantastic funny film for Fiat – and the client tries to pull it after ‘racist’ claims

Fiat marketing in the the US has lurched between the sublime and ridiculous (a disastrous tie-up with Jennifer Lopez to promote the 500 saw the rapid departure of Fiat’s US boss) but since then there’s been some good stuff too.

But none better than this three minute epic, ‘Backseat Italians,’ from Doner.

And what happens when someone makes a really funny, brilliant film?

People moan about it of course – in this case claiming it’s being ‘racist’ about Italians – and the company sets about frantically pulling it from the web.

But some Italians are like that – and all the better for it.

Are all clients muppets?
