Spotify tries to own serious music in first ad campaign by Droga5
Music streaming service Spotify has chosen Droga5 to handle its foist advertising campaign, ‘For Music,’ breaking now in the US.
Spotify launched in 2008 and quickly became the go-to music streaming service for early adopters in music and tech around the world. Now, with over 24 million active users globally and six million paying subscribers, Spotify is trying to break into the mainstream market.
The campaign, on TV and digital, shows the role music plays in people’s lives through chance encounters, impromptu parties, moments of nostalgia and, below, a heroic instance of crowd-surfing.
