Poor old Martin Clunes has been banned from driving for reaching 12 penalty points and so the actor, an agreeable cove, has been dropped from the Churchill Insurance ads in which he (sometimes) drives around the country with that bloody annoying model dog Churchill.
I suppose Churchill (the insurance company currently owned by RBS) and Clunes saw this coming. It happened once before when comedian Vic Reeves, who voices Churchill for squillions of pounds a year and free Winalot, was banned from driving.
You undoubtedly noticed this campaign by WCRS but it succeeded in wasting the amiable Clunes by portraying him as a boring, brainless bozo you just wanted to turn off.
Every cloud has a silver lining..
