Wieden+Kennedy London wins Nando’s chicken

I put it all down to a story we wrote back in February saying it was about time Wieden+Kennedy London began to punch its weight.

This rather offended affable London boss Neil Christie but since then the agency has proved itself to be a veritable cage fighter, winning a stream of accounts (most notably the giant Tesco) and producing some top drawer ads (Nike, Cravendale). Now it’s been appointed by hyper-successful UK-based chicken restaurant chain Nando’s.

First off is a multi-media and online campaign called ‘Find Yourself’ demonstrating, among other things, that Nando’s may be about chicken but the chicken comes in all sorts of varieties and flavours. All clever stuff, as you’d expect.

The creative world and its aunt is eagerly awaiting what W+K produces for Tesco. With Christmas looming there must be something in the pipeline but no white smoke yet.

  1. Cheers, Stephen.
It’s been a busy year – and we’re a long way from done yet!

  2. Congrats to Neil and the lads at W+K, London. I just hope the Nando’s does not come in “Cheesey Velveeta” flavor, cooked in the lusty smithies iron skillets.
