Leo Burnett opens in LA to handle Samsung

Less than two years after taking a cautious away from its Chicago heartland by opening an office in New York, Leo Burnett is opening another US office in Los Angeles to handle Samsung.

LBLA will be led by creative Shannon McGlothin (left) who joins from Deutsch LA and he’s already hired creatives Adam Kennedy and Brandon Rochon from Ogilvy Paris. LBLA will coordinate creative work on Samsung which Leo Burnett handles in 50 or so markets.

Leo Burnett worldwide CCO Mark Tuttsel (a Brit) says in that excitable way agencies do these days: “With the addition of Shannon – who has passionately created game-changing communications for legendary brands – we’re investing in our future and in the opportunity to truly make Samsung an iconic brand. From the establishment of LBNY last year to this LBLA expansion, there has never been a more exciting time for us, our talent and our clients.”

This all looks a bit WPP-ish, inventor of Team this, that and every other client. But it will be interesting to see if McGlothin and co spread their wings to work for other clients too.
