Muhammad Ali the poet features for Louis Vuitton

No journey is complete without a Louis Vuitton bag (providing you have a mountain a rapidly depleting euros to hand) and LV (which doesn’t do do luncheon vouchers) has signed up 70-year old former world heavyweight champ Muhammad Ali to front its “The Journey’ campaign.

As anyone watched the Olympics opening ceremony will have realised, the great boxer suffers from Parkinson’s these days so in his place LV and agency Ogilvy Paris are featuring, among others, rappper Yasiin Bey and graphic artist Neils Shoe Meulman speaking his ‘Greatest Words.’ These are the poems cum bits of doggerel he used to speak before his fights, mostly to unsettle further his already nervous opponents.

The copywriter was Amandine Fabian and the art director Adrien Havet. The film was directed by Stuart A. McIntyre for Steam Films.
