Chanel explores photographic back catalogue for brilliant new Rouge Allure campaign

We generally stay out of the sticky waters of fashion ads, too introspective, too wanky and too hard to describe in anything approximating to English.

But in bling bling land even we recognise that Chanel is the classiest brand around and this new ad from photographer Solve Sunsbo for Rouge Allure is all those fashion things, and actually helps to sell the product.

Apparently Solve was inspired by the work of one Erwin Blumenfeld, a German photographer of the 1930s who did lots of Vogue covers after he escaped from the Nazis (being Jewish). And they were fantastic.
