Now Wieden+Kennedy bags Finlandia vodka

The UK’s agency of the moment Wieden+Kennedy has followed its £110m Tesco win with its second assignment from drinks giant Brown-Forman, Finlandia vodka in Europe and Africa.

The agency won a place on the Brown-Forman roster with the award of the Polish Maximus Vodka business in February but Finlandia is the biggie.

Neil Punwani, global managing director vodkas at Brown-Forman says: “We have developed a strong working relationship with Wieden + Kennedy through their work on Maximus Vodka. We are pleased to be extending this to our global flagship vodka brand, Finlandia, across our most important markets.”

Success is contagious in the ad business (as is the opposite) and the challenge now for W+K is to maintain its creative standards as the agency gets a lot bigger. But the agency has teamed with uber production company TAG to do the donkey work on Tesco.

With two Brown-Forman brands under its belt it must fancy its chances of adding the likes of Southern Comfort and Jack Daniel’s.

W+K New York has just won Brown-Forman’s Southern Comfort, so that’ll be even more work soon for my friend Neil ‘Svengali’ Christie at W+K London.
