Berlin agency KKLD wins Richemont’s Baume & Mercier watches digital/social account

Berlin and New York agency KKLD has won the digital and social media accounts for posh Swiss watchmaker Baume & Mercier.

Baume & Mercier is owned by South Africa-based luxury goods conglomerate Richemont International. Its other brands number Alfred Dunhill, Mont Blanc pens and Purdey shotguns.

“We’ve been seduced by KKLD for their integrated and crosschannel approach but also for their strong creativity, and their extensive skill in digital brand experience or social media management”, says Stephanie Bretonniere head of international e-marketing and e-commerce at Baume & Mercier.

Alexander Diehl, founder of KKLD founder Alexander Diehl says: “We are thrilled to get the opportunity to work for such a venerable and inspired luxury brand as Baume & Mercier. Stephanie and her team have an exciting vision for the future of the brand’s digital strategy, and we’ll do our best to define and implement that vision across the digital landscape. With the web moving to mobile and social, this opens up exciting new opportunities in digital communication and commerce.”

Luxury products have defied the recession so far although there are some signs that even rich people are cutting back, hitherto gravity-defying posh fashion house Burberry reported slowing sales today, hitting the whole sector.
