Hearst-owned digital agency iCrossing has made a big move to strengthen its creative credentials by hiring five senior creatives as ECDs in its New York and San Francisco offices.
The moves follow the appointment of Patrick Stern (pictured) as iCrossing CCO from rival agency Interpublic-owned R/GA in December last year. Stern also worked in TBWA Chiat Day’s celebrated Apple-dominated Media Arts Lab.
The five are Ken Hamm and Jeff Weston who join from R/GA, Patrick Bennett from Ogilvy, Dylan DiBona from McCann and Paul Beddoe-Stephens from production company Zero Point Zero.
Print publisher Hearst bought global agency iCrossing for $325m in June 2010. At the time it seemed a strange move for a print company but the publisher of Cosmopolitan has obviously decided it was a good investment and that there’s serious money to be made in digital agencies, quite aside from the knowledge base it bought.
