Kevin Roddy, chairman and CCO of Publicis & Hal Riney in San Francisco, is to chair the advertising jury at the 37th annual One Show to be held at the Lincoln Centre during New York’s Creative Week from May 7-13.
In all the organisers The One Club have named 56 judges from around the world for three categories: advertising, design and interactive. Pum Lefebure of Design Army in Washington DC will chair the design jury and Benjamin Palmer of New York’s The Barbarian Group will chair the interactive jury.
The One Show tussles with London’s D&AD to make up the podium places in the awards game after the seemingly all-conquering (and certainly ever-growing) Cannes International Festival of Creativity. Unlike Cannes it confines itself to three big awards. And the advertising jury chair is a nice feather in the cap for Roddy who quit as creative boss of BBH New York in a rush in October 2010 after a bust-up with agency founder John Hegarty.
He then emerged as boss of Publicis & Hal Riney in April 2011, owner Publicis Groupe (which also owns 409 per cent of BBH) showing its confidence in him by rolling the Publicis Modem agency into the operation.
One Show entries close on January 31.
