Documentary-style Coke and McCann celebrate 125 years with 100-year old Filipino Lolo Mario

The heartstrings take a right old battering in advertising these days (John Lewis and all that) and McCann Worldgroup has produced this winner for Coca-Cola, celebrating its 125 years in business with 100-year old Filipino Lolo (grandfather) Mario making a special visit to see his new great granddaughter in hospital.

Of course some people have pointed out that he’d never have lived to that fine old age on a regime of Coke, but you can’t win them all.

McCann’s creatives were Peter Acuna, Ben Deluyas, Mervin Ignacio, Chan Dela Calzada, Che Laureano, Flem Anonuevo and the director was Stephen Ngo for Film Pabrika.
