Leading independent digital agency AKQA is opening its eighth network office with a new outpost in Paris. The St Germain-based agency’s first account is Nike which AKQA has worked with for 12 years.
AKQA Paris will be be led by four senior creatives – CCO James Hilton plus creative director Peter Lund and Nicolai Smith (pictured with AKQA founder Ajaz Ahmed) and Julien Veillon – and will eventually employ 40-plus people. AKQA, which was recently voted digital agency of the year by Adweek in the US and Campaign in the UK, currently employs over 1100 people worldwide. Its other offices are in London, Amsterdam, Berlin, San Francisco, New York, Washington DC.and Shanghai.

France has the third largest ecommerce market and online advertising ad spend in Europe, expected to surpass €24bn and €2.7bn this year. Smartphone growth in France has doubled in the last 18 months, making it one of the fastest growing markets in Europe.
