This is a neat video showing Publicis Groupe’s Maurice Levy, reviewing a challenging year in macro terms and looking forward to a “difficult” 2012. He also allows some of the troops to sit in his hot seat (Levy is on the last, rather extended lap towards retirement).
In the first three quarters of 2011 PG reported revenues of $5.78 billion, with organic growth of 6.9 per cent against 6.6 per cent in 2010. However ad forecasts are being revised downwards the whole time and, by releasing the video, Levy may be trying to prepare the markets for a below par final quarter in 2011.
PG’s most besetting issue at the moment is the future of one of its biggest accounts, the lion’s share of $3bn General Motors global media which is tipped to be on its way to Carat. But the agency group recently scooped $1bn Sprint creative and media in the US.
