MediaPost’s OMMA magazine announces its digital Oscar winners

And the winners are: Gold: Digitas; Silver: AKQA; Bronze: Campfire; Creative: Deutsch; Holding Company: Group M; Design/Interactive: Digitaria; Media Planning: MediaVest; Search: Covario; Mobile R/GA; Social: Huge; Viral Video: Definition 6 and Political: SS+K.

Some interesting names among them, chiefly indie companies who can expect a few invitations to ‘informal’ talks when the likes of WPP’s Mark Read (and maybe Sir Martin Sorrell) turn up for the awards presentation in January.

San Diego-based Search winner Covario, for example, has expanded dramatically in the past year, opening up in London, Tokyo, Beijing and Singapore. One of the foundations of Covario’s business is its licensable SaaS (Software as a Service) search marketing technology products for managing complex paid and organic search campaigns.

Creative winner Deutsch is never likely to be for sale as it’s the jewel in the crown of Interpublic’s Lowe & Partners network. Here’s it’s PlayStation film ‘To Michael’ showing the relationship between gamers and the characters they ‘control.’
