Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways to roll out ad bonanza?

Etihad Airines is reported to be reviewing its ad account with a purported budget of £100m so is adland in line for some munificence from the Abu Dhabi royal family, who have just poured £400m in an Etihad stadium-naming deal for their football club Manchester City (which they could have had for free)?

Campaign says the account has been with Omnicom’s TBWA London with media through OMD since 2005 although there’s not much evidence of creative activity. This seems the best of a pretty ropey bunch.

Actually there isn’t much evidence that Etihad needs advertising anyway but, as with the huge financial investment in Man City, it could happen as part of the biggest PR campaign in history.
