Samsonite and JWT Shanghai won the Press Grand Prix at this year’s Cannes international Festival of Creativity and now Samsonite has picked up advertiser of the year at Asia’s Spikes awards, organised by Cannes and Haymarket.
It’s Samsonite’s 100th anniversary so there will have been a few rumbles that this particular gong is rather too timely but JWT’s work has been exceptional. And such anniversaries do persuade clients to loosen the purse strings.

We remarked yesterday, referencing Dior, at the way posh brands are becoming big companies with big ad budgets, as opposed to the not so recent past when all they did was run a few ads in upscale magazines.
Samsonite is another good example.
