DDB Berlin builds on brilliant Reebok campaign – even though some of the sportsmen are struggling

DDB Berlin has been running a fantastic campaign for Reebok Zig Tech, now becoming a cool sports brand against the odds, featuring numerous top sportsmen transmogrifying from a drawing to live action, all courtesy of animation wizards Pysop.

Unfortunately sportsmen’s fortunes come and go a bit, as we can see from this ad featuring MS Dhoni, captain and wicketkeeper of the Indian cricket team which has been comprehensively stuffed by England in this summer’s test series.

Dhoni, the new poster boy of Indian cricket, can hardly buy a run and his wicket-keeping has been embarrassing.

But it’s still a good campaign and shows the benefits of hiring US-based Psyop, as reliable in its own way as the UK’s very different Aardman Animation, headed by veteran animator Nick Park.

Here’s one of the latest in the Reebok campaign featuring NFL quarterback Peyton Manning.
