On the face of it, it looks like a completely barmy decision for Vodafone not to include Grey London on the WPP-only shortlist for its £47m UK ad account, recently departed from BBH.
Or maybe it wasn’t Vodafone’s decision.
Anyway Vodafone has named JWT, Ogilvy & Mather and RKCR/Y&R to pitch for the account despite WPP-owned Grey recently producing a jolly good campaign for Vodafone Ireland.
Which is more than JWT London ever managed last time it held the account (or BBH for that matter).
If I were Grey CEO Chris Hirst I’d be demanding a recount.
