TBWA London has won the GAME and gamestation retail accounts, its first big win since importing new creative director Andre Laurentino from Brazil.
The business was formerly with Cheetham Bell JWT.
Game Group marketing director Anna-Marie Mason says: “We’re already working closely with TBWA to deliver a Christmas campaign that will bring our brands to life as well as the key challenge of delivering cut-through for our commercial offerings. We are looking forward to seeing the work later in the year.”
The UK high street is a pretty tough place these days with heavy competition for mid-sized retailers like GAME coming from the supermarkets and online.
As for TBWA London the arrival of Laurentino (who replaced Mark Hunter who left for Deutsch in Los Angeles) seems to have put a spring in its step already. Pre-Laurentino the agency won the £10m Muller yogurt account.
Laurentino may be the creative leader it needs to allow the agency to finally step out of the long shadow cast by former creative director and now Beattie McGuinness Bungay partner Trevor Beattie.
