Ann Summers cans Squeal Deal campaign after protests from irate Marks & Spencer

Well that’s a shame, lingerie and sex toy provider Ann Summers, best known for its Rampant Rabbit vibrators, has had to can a new ‘Squeal Deal’ campaign based on UK retail giant Marks & Spencer’s ‘meal deals.’

M&S foods ads by RKCR/Y&R are famous for their ‘food porn’ voiceovers.

The Ann Summers Squeal Deal included lingerie, a sex toy and lickable lubricant in place of M&S’ main dish, side dish and bottle of wine. But it was a bit more expensive at £29 against M&S at £10.

M&S didn’t see the funny side, burbling:“Over the last 127 years Marks & Spencer has built up a great reputation for quality and trust in the hearts and minds of the British public. When we believe these values are being infringed, we do whatever we can to protect our brand and our customers. We therefore are taking legal advice with a view to issuing legal proceedings.”

It’s a pity M&S chairman Sir Stuart Rose, a noted boulevardier, stepped down recently. Rose would probably have legged it down to the nearest Ann Summers to inspect the merchandise.
