We’re still short of big global agency deals considering that the big marcoms groups are awash with cash but Publicis Groupe is making the running in smaller deals, this week snapping up UK digital and direct marketing agency Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw for an undisclosed sum (which probably means a big earn-out component).
Kitcatt Nohr will be rolled in to Publicis’ big Digitas digital operation which in turn comes under its Vivaki umbrella.
The agency will now be merged with Digitas in the UK, creating a new agency called Kitcatt Nohr Digitas, which will become part of the VivaKi group of agencies which also includes Razorfish.
It will be run by CEO Marc Nohr and CCO Paul Kitcatt (pictured) with current Digitas boss James Sanderson leaving, which may indicate that Publicis was dissatisfied with Digitas’ growth in the UK or just that Kitcatt and Nohr insisted on being the bosses.
The new agency will have around 160 people and clients including Procter & Gamble, John Lewis, Lexus and Delta Airlines.
