New style Ford focuses on brand ambassador Doug the puppet

We always knew that no good would come from all this social media business and now we have Ford, the ultimate buttoned-down corporation, creating a viral-friendly Kermit-style puppet called Doug to be its brand ambassador for the new Ford Focus and unleashing the orange creature on unsuspecting hacks in a press conference.

This seems to be the grand strategy of Ford’s head of social media, the lively Scott Tryon (who may or may not be the Ford exec in the above clip).

Goodness knows what old Henry Ford would have made of it all. Any puppet as long as it’s orange maybe.
