Francois Sarkozy joins Publicis Groupe with sale of healthcare consultancy

Nicolas Sarkozy’s younger brother Francois is joining Publicis Groupe which has bought the healthcare agency AEC Partners he set up with Yannick Sabatin.

It will be renamed Publicis Healthcare Consulting and looks like it will be run by Sabatin as Sarkozy goes off to advise Publicis COO Jean-Yves Naouri.

Naouri would do well to keep a close eye on his new assistant as the Sarkozys are hardly known for their lack of ambition.

We’ve remarked here before on the way the big French agencies are entwined with political life in France and there must be a strong chance that Publicis Groupe boss Maurice Levy thinks the well-conected Francois Sarkozy is destined for higher things, in the company or without.

As for the business it’s the latest in a long list of small to medium sized acquisitions by Publicis this year.
