BBH pushes the envelope every which way with Johnnie Walker Marc Herremans ad

Blimey this is going to be controversial, not because it features a disabled athlete confronting his former self (which is brilliantly done) but because it’s for a booze company, Diageo’s Johnnie Walker whisky.

Belgian triathlete Marc Herremans broke his back in an accident training for the Ironman event in 2002 but went on to become the first disabled athlete to complete the Ironman Final course in Hawaii in 2006.

“I shall be released,” intones Bob Dylan. Herremans won’t of course. But I guess he’s entitled to reach for a stiff drink.
