Philips reviews $100m digital account at Tribal DDB

It’s getting to be a trend, win a big award for your creative work and the client promptly reviews the account.

Dutch electronics giant Philips was no doubt delighted to pick up this year’s film Grand Prix at Cannes for this Tribal DDB Amsterdam opus for its cinema-style tellies but that hasn’t stopped it deciding to review its $100m account.

As you can see from the various ‘making of’ virals on YouTube this was quite a production and some people think the end result doesn’t justify the extensive means.

It may also be the case that Philips is reviewing its huge commitment to digital which includes its own channel on YouTube and a dedicated film stream.

Tribal DDB is owned by Omnicom which has other tentacles into Philips including its PR in the US. So Tribal DDB may emerge with the account intact.

You can’t rest on your laurels though, can you?
