Here’s the full length Nike ‘write the future’ ad – makes the Ashes to Ashes finale look plain sailing

Ambush marketing at its finest I suppose as Nike mugs official World Cup sponsor Adidas with this extravaganza.

Heaven knows what it all means, but then that’s not the point.

In the UK last week we had the last episode of cult cop drama Ashes to Ashes in which, it appears, the leading characters were all dead and marooned in purgatory, waiting to get into heaven which turned out to be a pub. Not that any of this was even hinted at in the rest of the series.

Which bore about as much relation to logic as this ad. What’s Homer Simpson got to do with the World Cup?

But it sort of works. And Toxteth boy Wayne Rooney would pass any screen test.
