Former Mindshare man Steve Simpson falls foul of WPP’s ‘zero tolerance’ for two-timing employees

By Stephen Foster on January 6, 2012

Yet another one-time WPP employee, Steve Simpson, formerly CEO of GroupM’s Business Sciences division and an employee of Mindshare, has fallen foul of the marcoms giant’s insistence that departing employees play things by the book. Not only that but Simpson (pictured) seems to have lost his new job at data-based consultant Marketshare EMEA Partners too. [...]

Don’t mess with Sir Martin Sorrell and WPP you Oystercatchers!

By Stephen Foster on April 12, 2011

They keep doing it don’t they, these people who think they can spirit business out of WPP? But they can’t, of course, because WPP boss Sir Martin Sorrell is quick to call in the lawyers when anybody tries to leave with a client in the back pocket. Sorrell has made it his life’s work to [...]

WPP's legal eagles win in High Court against Everystone marketing consultancy breakaway

WPP’s legal eagles win in High Court against Everystone marketing consultancy breakaway

By Angie Dean on February 24, 2011

It used to be received wisdom that an ad agency’s assets (or any other agency’s assets) went ‘up and own in the lift’ and that therefore agencies or agency groups were bad investments because the staff and their clients could walk at any time. Every time Martin Sorrell (as he then was) heard this it [...]
