My Top Tips for Cannes

TV2 – All that we share

This was a brilliantly timed piece of content from TV2 in Denmark. In a year of divisive politics, elections and referendums it was great to see a piece of work highlighting that we as humans have more in common than we think. Executed beautifully, it made you stop, think, smile, even cry, and ultimately appreciate that we are all united. A sentiment many millions were happy to share.

Samsung – Ostrich

Given the challenges Samsung faced during 2016, this was a wonderfully bold ad. A lovely insight (do what you can’t), beautifully executed. The story of an ostrich dreaming of flying gave some much needed humanity to the soulless Samsung brand and almost made the VR headset seem like a good idea.

Kenzo World – The New Fragrance

With Spike Jonze directing it was always going to be special and this campaign didn’t disappoint in the slightest. Brilliantly shot, a vituoso performance and a sharp sense of humour, It was great to see a luxury brand challenging the traditions of that category. As a piece of creative it divided opinion, but it’s a gold all day long for me.
