Mercedes brings Hollywood to the Super Bowl with Peter Fonda’s ‘Easy Driver’

Back in the 1960s a couple of engineers started producing pimped-up Mercedes called AMG. Now darlings everyone wants an AMG so, for the Super Bowl, the German car brand is plugging it by returning to those heady days, 1969 and the biker film Easy Rider to be precise.

And agencies Merkley in the US and Antoni in Germany have persuaded the celebrated Coen Brothers, of Fargo fame, to make their first ad in aeons. With a certain Peter Fonda who co-wrote the film as well as starring in it.

The Super Bowl one is a cut down version, which sounds a bit mean after all that effort.

But it’s a nice job.
